Pulvarized Coal Injection (PCI) Facility

Project Description:
Pulvarized Coal Injection (PCI) is a a technology whereby pulverized coal is introduced into a blast furnace through tuyeres (nozzle) in place of using coke.

The PCI system designed by Globex is comprised of equipment for coal delivery, crushing and drying, injection, instrumentation, etc. Raw material used for pulverizing is non-coking economical coal, which substitutes for coking coal. The crusher has drying and sorting functions, and automatically controls the flow of explanation, pulverized coal so that it is evenly distributed when injected into the tuyeres. Inert gas is used to prevent the coal dust explosion at the time of crushing.
